COllaboratory is a project coordinated by the University of Hawai’i Rainbow Advantage Program. Its main purpose is to bring K-16 students together to develop their ideas in traditional and non-traditional forms. This exhibit represents the culmination of a year’s worth of work and research and allows the students to showcase their learning in a visual, creative and public way.
This year’s concept was to create a ‘museum within a museum,’ and in keeping with the Bishop Museum’s interest in the Mars Millennium Project, we created a museum on Mars about Earth. This museum features two main exhibits and its own gift shop.

“Significant People” is an exhibit created by 8th graders from Iolani School about those who made a difference on Earth from 0 to 1500 A.D.

“Visions of the Future” is an exhibit created by freshmen from the University of Hawai’I Rainbow Advantage Program, and reflects the imagination of science fiction authors and filmmakers of the 20th century.

The gift shop was created by 3rd graders at Le Jardin Windward Academy and is an integral part of the museum as it displays products created by the students.
